WHAT MAKES A CONGREGATION GROW?
In a recent survey on what makes churches grow and on what causes them to remain continually strong; eight characteristics were listed:
1. Members were taught to be unapologetic in their commitment to the lord Jesus Christ.
2. Members accepted the total infallibility of the Bible and the absolute Lordship of Jesus.
3. Members considered faithful attendance a must for all ages levels.
4. Worship
services are warmhearted, with members placing great emphasis on heartfelt
singing, preaching, praying and studying God's Word.
5. Members financially supported the congregation willingly and
liberally, even making up their contributions after being away for any length of
time.
6. Members believed in their leadership, believing God had given them the authority to rule the affairs of the congregation.
7.Members talked about the Lord's work in positive ways and volunteered readily for whatever job was needed to get done.
8. Members were convinced that Jesus is coming again, and were committed to reaching people for Jesus Christ.
Let's make sure that every one of the above listed success factors will
be found in EACH ONE of us! The church will then be guaranteed continued growth and strength.
God, grant me the strength of
will, of motive, and of will, To do my part and falter not Your purpose to fulfill.
