Christians are to be of assistance to others as they have the ability and opportunity, especially in the area of sin. God says for Christians to:

"Warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted; uphold the weak, " and to be "patient with all" (lThs 5:14). But there are some Christians that cannot be helped - no matter what other Christians do. Not even God can help these people. For instance: No one can help:

THE ONE WHO CANNOT SEE HIS OWN FAULTS: How can anyone be helped if they are not willing see his or her own faults or sins? We can talk to him and show him where he has sinned, which is what the Bible instructs (Mt 18:15), but if he is not willing to admit that he's done wrong, not even God can help this person. "Denial" is a popular word used today of people who won't admit any wrongdoing.

THE ONE WHO ACCEPTS NO CULPABILITY FOR HIS FAULTS: Some do see fault or sin in their life, but they don't want to accept the blame. In one way or another they try to justify what they've done.
(1) They pass it off as simply an
insignificant mistake or error in judgment.
"Oop's, ya. that was not a good decision."
"But, it's no big deal." Many criminals
reason this way; "What's the big deal." (2)
They blame it on someone else or on some
extenuating circumstance. This is indicative
of today's "no fault" society.
The blame is never their! Everyone else and everything else is to blame. Some people are just not culpable!

THE ONE WHO KNOWS IT ALL: Most have met those Who "know it all." This problem is found in the uneducated as well as those who have much learning; and preachers and elders are no exception. The "know-it-all" Christian usually says something like, "that's just your interpretation" (and by implication many are probably saying, "I know more than you, therefore my interpretation is right and your's is wrong). Or he may say, "the Bible means different things to different people," and by implication the same know-it-all conclusion often is reached. It's impossible to help a person like this because be can never be shown a Scripture that will convict him of sin. He or she always knows otherwise!

THE ONE WHO GETS ANGRY: Some people get awful angry when you try to help them. Often they get more than angry; they get mad and furious. "How dare you suggest I need help After all, I've haven't done anything wrong, you've just misunderstood." Or, "It's someone else's fault, don't you know?" Or, "Where do you get off telling me (who knows more than you} that I'm wrong." "Don't you know that you're the one that's wrong for 'judging me?'" .ŁE
